The Better Fishing Grants program aims to enhance recreational sea fishing accessibility in Tasmania. Under the $2 million Investing in Improved Facilities for Recreational Fishers and Local Communities initiative, the Tasmanian Government provides grants to improve facilities for recreational marine fishing.

Eligible Applicants include:

  • Incorporated not-for-profit organizations (including community groups and fishing clubs)
  • Municipal councils and other land managers (for small grants)
  • Public land managers (for large grants)

Funding Available:

  • Up to $300,000 for large projects
  • Up to $30,000 for small projects
  • Eligible projects may include installing or upgrading pontoons, jetties, fish cleaning tables, toilets, paths, and other fishing-related facilities.
