The Better Fishing Grants program aims to enhance recreational sea fishing accessibility in Tasmania. Under the $2 million Investing in Improved Facilities for Recreational Fishers and Local Communities initiative, the Tasmanian Government provides grants to improve facilities for recreational marine fishing.
Eligible Applicants include:
- Incorporated not-for-profit organizations (including community groups and fishing clubs)
- Municipal councils and other land managers (for small grants)
- Public land managers (for large grants)
Funding Available:
- Up to $300,000 for large projects
- Up to $30,000 for small projects
- Eligible projects may include installing or upgrading pontoons, jetties, fish cleaning tables, toilets, paths, and other fishing-related facilities.
