It is extremely important for an organisation and in this case your sporting club to ensure that you implement strategic planning.

Strategic planning is such a vital tool because it enables your club to have a sense of direction and ultimately outlines measurable goals which can impact your success on and off the field. It is a roadmap that indicates what the club wants to achieve and why it is important. It also provides all members with positivity because everyone understands their role in helping the club move forward to reach all their goals.

Almost all people find it scary to create a strategy for their business or organisation because it forces you to confront a future that we can only guess and predict at. Choosing a strategy also entails you to make decisions that can explicitly cut off possibilities and options, which can create fear that if we get these decisions wrong. This can lead to the idea that it will negatively impact our sporting club, but this fear does not need to exist because we can make strategic planning easy!

This Sports Community Webinar Series will outline how powerful strategic planning can be for your club, and whilst it may seem daunting, we will break it down to make it fun and less stressful! You will learn how to critically assess your clubs’ activities which will help maximise your clubs’ outcomes and increase member involvement within your club! We want you to walk away with the ability to create a strategic plan that can lead your club to achieving all their goals and gain long term success!
