l) Database Manager

A Database Manager works closely with other computer programmers and IT experts and is responsible for organising all important data in the computer. They manage the security of all documents as well as its recovery on the database and make sure that the data encoded is consistent among the users. They also manage the user’s identity to control the security of the database as well as their identity’s security.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for designing a database for the club that is easy for all users to access and use
  • Responsible for maintaining the security of all documents and identity of all the users that are authorised to access it
  • Controls the users who can access the database
  • Installs and customises applications for the betterment of the program
  • Makes sure that the storage, back-up and recovery of data are working well
  • Responsible for restoring and recovering corrupted databases
  • Studies and evaluate other database technologies to implement

  • Good communication skills
  • Know how to work well with team mates
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable about the needs of the users of the database
  • Familiar with the most recent technology trends
  • Must be organised
  • Knowledgeable about financial or accounting principle
  • Assess good applications for the program
  • Pass on knowledge to fellow workers
